My Ubuntu keeps saying ndiswrapper is not a command. It didn't appear in the the network list in the upper right - it maintained its old name Wave and wouldn't connect. I allways tried the developers website the other times. Generally, they are superior to any ndiswrapper device. After that I looked on the network manager in the fiirmware, and several wifi networks were shown including my own. I feel none too bright right now.

That is why we purchased the wireless adapter to access the internet with it. I checked Network Connections and now I have wave and wave1.

Please post back your findings. Wine is there but it is just a name in a list. As skeptical as I sometimes can be about Network Manager, I doubt it is a coincidence. I thought you said you have a WNA I hope I see you tomorrow.

My suspicion is that the device is, in some way, firmwwre defective. However, I find myself having to make install and whatnot every reboot. Let's see before we call the coroner. Though netgear WNDA v2 seems to be working fine with windows 7, I'm stuck at this point on ubuntu I click on connect and it just keeps cycling through this procedure.

This was the final step, Thank you!! I changed it back to the original one for all the other devices and the issue went away with the wireless nic I was having problems with.
